“The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.” – Joel 3:16

Honestly, I got wrapped up with other projects this week and didn’t get much of a blog post written. I recommend that you watch this Bible Project video about the book of Joel. I like the way it links the book of Joel to a lot of other prophetic books and demonstrates the continuity within this short book. It also fits nicely with the current theme of God revealing His plan.

The poster which accompanies this video (and all their Bible Book videos) is very well done.

Just a short thought about this week’s 3:16 verse.

“The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.” – Joel 3:16

This verse is part of God’s revelation of His plan for future judgement of the nations. What I find interesting is the firm foundation that is depicted for those who believe in and trust God through His son Jesus. In the face of judgement, God’s people can trust in God’s love and protection of us!
